How to Read the Chart

Find the mother's Chinese lunar age on the left, then move across to the lunar conception month. The cell where the row and column meet gives the traditional boy-or-girl folklore prediction.

Why Normal Age and Month Can Be Wrong

Western age counts completed birthdays, while traditional Chinese lunar age uses nominal age within the lunar-year system. Gregorian months also do not line up exactly with lunar months, so January, February or any month near a lunar boundary can be especially confusing.

Leap Month Policy

Some lunar years contain a leap month. LunarBabyStory's current V1 rule keeps leap months in the same chart month number, which makes the lookup stable and explainable. The predictor shows leap-month status in the calculation details when it applies.
